Digital sculpting
Researching my Samoan heritage through
digital sculpting I pay tribute to the late Tupua Tamasese Lealofi III
Tupua Tamasese Lealofi III was a leader of Samoa's pro-independant
Mau movement during the early 1900's.
He was fatally shot by New Zealand police during a Mau procession on 28 December 1929 in Apia which turned violent, in what became known as Black Saturday.
His tomb, constructed of black stones in tier is situated in Lepea beside the main road and 5 minutes from Apia. His eldest son was Tupua Tamasese Lealofi IV (1922-1983), who served two terms as Samoa's Prime Minister.
